Here are the Top 5 ways to keep your brain working and have some fun this summer!

5. Share what you've been reading on our NORTHVIEW READS summer reading blog!  Read along with these teachers, or strike out on your own and post a recommendation:

Register for the Kirkendall Summer Reading Program!

Sign up for the summer reading program at the Kirkendall Public Library!  You'll have to go to Kirkendall to pick up a reading tracker form, but you can set your goal and sign up here.

There will be a competition with Southview, so let's represent Northview and do some great reading this summer, Jaguars!

What's with all these SAD books???

At some point in the year, my students always whined, "Ms. L, why is everything we read so SAD?"  Well, aside from the fact that I'm just one of those strange people who enjoys sad stories (they're so POWERFUL and they make me think about what it means to be human), here's an article from the New York Times Sunday Book Review that looks at happy books and sad books...
